AC Milan's Kaka denies move as Chelsea prepare £80m bid

Kaka has denied he is leaving AC Milan following reports Chelsea planto launch a world record breaking £80 million attempt to sign theBrazilian playmaker before the transfer window slams shut on Sept 1.

Kaka, 26, has long been on Chelsea's transfer agenda despite suits at the San Siro rebuffing all of their efforts to date.

Yet it is claimed in the Mirror and the Mailthat the London club will attempt to entice Milan officials with afinal offer of £80m in Monaco at the end of the week where both clubswill be present for the European draws.

Furthermore, there had been talk last week that Chelsea were grantedfirst refusal on the Brazil international as a gesture of goodwillbetween the two clubs as part of the recent sale of Andriy Shevchenko -a deal unheard-of to Kaka who issued a firm denial in Italian sportsdaily, La Gazzetta dello Sport.

He said: "I can't say [if I've been included in the Shevchenko deal],because if someone has promised me to [Chelsea owner Roman] Abramovich,it wasn't me.

"I've always said I'm happy at Milan and as long as my aims remain thesame as Milan's I'll stay here. Until now it's always been that way.

"Me going to Chelsea? I'm staying as a Rossoneri player."

Despite his insistence, Kaka, lured by the incentive of £200,000per-week, is said to be warm to the prospect of reviving former tieswith coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, the man who gave the player hisinternational debut when in charge of Brazil in 2002.

Not only has Milan's failure to qualify for the Champions League thisseason enhanced the prospect of the deal, but Kaka is believed to bedisillusioned with the Italian outfit's transfer policy this summer andis said to be alarmed at the rival of Ronaldinho.

As a devout Christian, famous for his goal celebrations acclaimingJesus, Kaka apparently does not approve of the arrival of hiscompatriot who infamously leads a somewhat voluptuous lifestyle and issupposedly concerned with the direction the club is taking.

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani, meanwhile, has also dismissedthe speculation, insisting there is no agreement for Chelsea to signthe World Footballer of the Year now or in the future.

"We have said it again and again in the last two years – he won't leave," he said.

"With Shevchenko we never, never talked about Kaka so fans should stay calm."

Kaka is currently recovering from a knee injury and has decided toignore the constant transfer talk surrounding him by maintaining hisfocus on the start of the forthcoming Serie A season.

"I feel good," he announced, adding: "Everything is going well and I amabout to finish the physiotherapy and begin getting ready for the newcampaign." Telegraph
